So…while Steelo, Audra, and I were standing outside of the Sprint Center waiting to be able to go inside a man ran up to us and hurriedly blurted out something about the band on a flatbed truck. Moments later a truck pulled up in front of us and IT WAS THE FOO FIGHTERS. They were dressed in costume and playing a song directly across the street from the protest group from Westboro Baptist. It was kind of an anti-protest protest song and message. We walked around the truck and stood 10 feet away in awe. Would any other band have done this? I don’t know. But it was awesome.

Here’s a review of the concert from the Kansas City Star

At the end of the article there’s a quote that sums it up nicely:

I have no idea what or whom God loves or hates, but if any eminent power was looking down into the Sprint Center Friday night, it had to be pleased with what it saw: a band earning an honest day’s living; and a crowd getting more than what it paid for.
